Content
Working with drawn and calligraphic letterforms participants will add decoration, colour and delicate effects in, on or around letters using different techniques, watercolours, pastels and coloured pencils. The mix of ideas and resources will enable everyone to produce graphic and calligraphic letters for e.g. greeting cards, framing, calligraphic work, adding sparkle to pages!
Topics Include - edged pen lettering, pressure and release, pastel backgrounds, colour blending, lifting out colour, changing nib colours, demonstrations, individual projects.
Tutor Background
Jan Pickett is a professional calligrapher, lettering artist and illustrator and a popular national and international calligraphy workshop tutor. She is a Fellow member of the Calligraphy, Lettering and Arts Society (CLAS) and the Society of Scribes and Illuminators (SSI). Examples of Jan's work can be found on her website.
